As a mom, most days the closest I get to art is spaghetti smears on the high chair tray. How does one manage creating art while fully invested into your family?
When you're a mom, it's so easy to negotiate hobbies to the back burner, feel too burnt out to put paint brush to paper, or even resent making your own mess after cleaning messes all day. It's only natural to put yourself aside to care for your family. Don't beat yourself up!
I'll tell you a secret....sometimes, I go months without even remembering that I'm an artist. AND THAT'S OKAY!
Art isn't meant to be productivity to a fault, or add to your already overflowing plate. Give yourself grace and when the art is meant to be made, the inspiration will flow through you and the opportunity will open.
The more you pressure yourself to create, the harder it is to want to.
Breathe, experience life with your littles, break out the crayons and the biggest piece of paper you can find, and scribble your best scribble with those babies, until it's your moment again. Then, you'll experience art again just like you never left.
